Book Signing and Christmas Open House

Keith Norrington with Capt. Charlie Lehman at book signing.

Captain Charlie Lehman has published a book that defines and delves into the history of our Western Rivers, and explains the language, spoken and written, as used by every Riverman from the age of steamboats to the diesel powered vessels that today ply our navigable rivers and canals. Capt. Lehman will be on deck for book signing during the Christmas Open House 1PM to 4PM.

Capt. Alan Bates, well known to this community, river and steamboat historian and naval architect and restorer of the Belle of Louisville, says of this book:

"Captain Charlie Lehman's book, A riverman's Lexicon In Lehman's Terms is on the market. Anyone who claims to like the rivers or who works on them needs this book of definitions of river terminology. It is 504 pages of accurate information well-laced with humor, unabashed puns, poetry, illustrations, dervations and opinion. Nothing like it has ever been published. It belongs in every fan's library, in every pilothouse, in possession of every riverman from deckhand to owner, and in libraries and law offices across the land."

The cost is $25.00 at the book signing on Sunday, December 13th at the Howard Steamboat Museum, 1PM to 4PM. Copies may also be ordered from Mr. Lehman at the same price plus $5.00 shipping until January 31. On February 1, the book will be sold for $29.95 plus $5.00 shipping.
