17th Annual Arts, Crafts, Garden, & Antique Festival
A VICTORIAN CHAUTAUQUA
at the
Howard Steamboat Museum
Jeffersonville, Indiana
May 16 & 17, 2009
The 17th Annual “A Victorian Chautauqua” will take place on
the grounds of the Howard Steamboat Museum in Jeffersonville
on Saturday, May 16th, 10AM to 6PM and Sunday, May 17th,
10AM to 4PM. The festival features quality arts and crafts,
Carriage House Antique Sales, a large herb and perennial sale,
music, lectures, book signings, Mansion tours and themed
children's activities at Aunt Nannie's Crafts. All family,
all day long entertainment.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the Howard Steamboat
Museum, a 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to the
preservation of the Howard legacy, their Mansion
and the lore of the Great Steamboat Era.
The theme this year, “Steamboat Stimulus-Millions
of Lincolns”,
connects the museum's present $1,000,000 Capital Campaign
(Phase I) to the current national bicentennial celebration of
Lincoln's birth. "Lincolns", on pennies or $5.00 bills,
will be gratefully accepted during the festival. One million
pennies will bring us $10,000 closer to the goal. One
million $5.00 bills will propel us into Phase II of the
campaign which will address the long awaited adaptive
restoration of the Carriage House.
