the public in the Museum Carrriage House for free
during
regular museum hours.

Opening New Doors
50 Years at the
Howard Steamboat Museum

Eligibility for Open-Themed Art Entries
-
Artists should live within a 50 mile radius of the
Howard Steamboat Museum.
-
Art work should be original (not previously exhibited),
and recent (within 3 yrs.)
-
2-D & 3-D Art work weighing less than 50 lbs. are accepted.
(Save photography and jewelry for a future show.)

Artists may submit up to five entries. No more than three entries
per artist will be selected for the exhibit. Note: fees apply
only to those pieces that are accepted for the show.

With each entry, submit an
Entry Form and a photo of a work for review by jury.
The application and photo may be sent by email or mail.
Please note: the deadline for submissions is Wednesday,
February 18th.

For email, the entry form can be copied and pasted into
your email. Digital jpeg or tif image files of your work
can be an attached to your email. The email should be sent to:

Or, the entry form can be printed on paper and filled out and
mailed along with a CD, floppy or slide to:

Work for the exhibit will be juried according to the following age
categories:
-
Adult (over 18): Fee per selected entry $20.00.

Teen (13-18): Fee per selected entry $10.00.

Children (up to and including 12): Fee per selected entry $5.00.
Framing Requirements
-
Adult: Accepted works must be framed & wired for hanging. (No clip frames or saw tooth hangers.)
-
Teen/Children: Accepted works on paper may be matted without frames. Canvases should be framed & wired.

Attach a copy of completed entry form to the back of each 2-D piece. Identify 3-D pieces with artist's name
and telephone number attached to each piece.

Artists must bring entries accepted by Spring Into Art Committee to Museum's Carriage House. (Fees must be paid at this time.)

Award Presentations

Adult Category: Reception on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
"The People Choice" Ribbons will be judged by reception attendees.

1st prize $300; 2nd prize $200; 3rd prize $100
Teens/Children: Reception on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m.

Teens:
- 1st prize $150; 2nd prize $100; 3rd prize $50
Children:

1st prize $50; 2nd prize $30; 3rd prize $20
